Public service broadcaster -television and radio programmes that are broadcast to provide information, advice, or entertainment to the public without trying to make a profit
Commercial radio- Commercial radio stations make money by selling advertising. Having a large listening audience leads to more advertisers. The more advertisers a station has, the more it can charge for its advertising. National Public Radio stations represent public or non-commercial radio.
Community radio-The Community Radio provides a platform to communities to air local voices on issues concerning Health, Nutrition, Education, Agriculture etc.
DAB radio -DAB stands for Digital Audio Broadcasting. So basically, it is just digitally transmitted sound. This is different to FM, for example, which is sound that is transmitted via radio waves, and you can adjust it to suit your location.
RAJAR -RAJAR stands for Radio Joint Audience Research. It is the official body in charge of measuring radio audiences in the United Kingdom. RAJAR was set up by the BBC and the RadioCentre in 1992 to measure their audiences using the same system.

Royal Charter-A Royal Charter is an instrument of incorporation, granted by The King, which confers independent legal personality on an organisation and defines its objectives, constitution and powers to govern its own affairs.

Convergence- when two or more things come together to form a new whole.

Community radio-Often not for profit, these tend to cover small areas and serve the interests of particular social groups.
Commercial radio-these are funded by advertising. The uk has many of these-they often focus on particular genres of music and are very popular.

Born with a dislocated hip, Helen was frail as a baby but grew into a horse-mad teenager keen on a career in food. The death of her brother John in 1998 hit her hard, as did a doomed relationship with Greg Turner, who took his own life in 2004.
After battling a near-fatal eating disorder, Helen decided not to wait for Mr Right and gave birth to Henry, conceived by donor insemination, in 2011. She was at her happiest when she met Mr Wrong, Rob Titchener, two years later.
Their passionate affair led to a hasty wedding, but his charm soon turned to coercion and cruelty. Eventually, heavily pregnant and fearful for Henry, Helen stabbed Rob. When the scale of his abuse emerged, a jury cleared Helen of attempted murder and she was awarded custody of Henry and baby Jack. Enraged, Rob tried to snatch Jack but Helen saw him out of Ambridge, enabling her to start afresh.
